The Dancers of Bursting
Lorena Cobos, a Bronx native, finds her voice through movement. Having studied many genres of dance such as ballet, jazz, street jazz, hip-hop foundation, contemporary, modern, and salsa, her style is a combination of them all. She has had the privilege of dancing for many amazing artists and continues to explore different realms of her movement to share with the world.
Reanna Comstock, a Southern California native, grew up loving the arts from the young age of 4 years old. Dancing her way through high school and college, she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts at Chapman University in Dance Performance and minored in Integrated Educational Studies. Since then, she has had the opportunity to work with Suku Dance Lab co-founded by Talia Moreta and Belinda Adam, as well as performing with SHIFT Dance Collective founded by Gabriella Bruno. Recently, Reanna choreographed the play entitled In Defense of Glitter and Rainbows written/produced by True Rodriguez and directed by Andres "Chulisi" Rodriguez. She has also shown one of her works entitled The Divide at West Park Presbyterian Church. She is so proud to be a part of this journey with Candace and can't wait to perform.
Kaori Hiwasa is from Osaka, Japan. Her career started as a live performance backup dancer for numerous Japanese artists and choreographers. Kaori has worked with renowned choreographer Shawnette Heard (Janet Jackson, Madonna, Beyoncé), Sheila Barker, Lauren Cox, Eric Jenkins and Ellenore Scott (So You Think You Can Dance, Janet Jackson, Glee, CATS, King Kong). She is currently working with notable artists and choreographers across the city and as a member of Ellenore Scott’s dance company, ELSCO Dance. Kaori performs multiple styles including Contemporary, Jazz, Hip-Hop.
